1. Hukum mempelajari ilmu tajwid secara teori dan memahaminya hukum hakam tersebut adalah FARDHU KIFAYAH. (al-Juraisi, Nihayah al-Qaul al-Mufid fi 'Ilmi al-Tajwid, Muhammad Khalid Mansur, al-Wasit fi 'Ilmi al-Tajwid). 2. Adapun begitu, hukum mempelajari ilmu tajwid secara amali adalah FARDHU AIN kerana adapun beramal dengan hukum tajwid dalam membaca al-Quran, hukumnya adalah FARDHU AIN ke atas pembaca Al-Quran sama ada lelaki mahupun wanita dengan kadar kemampuannya, pengetahuan dan keupayaan pembaca. (Hidayah al-Qari ila Tajwid Kalam Al-Bari-2005).
