Banyakkan bersedekah - Sedekah merupakan perkara yang amat dituntut kepada umat Islam. Ia merupakan ibadah yang besar ganjarannya di akhirat kelak sebagaimana firman Allah SWT: Sesungguhnya orang-orang lelaki yang bersedekah dan orang-orang perempuan yang bersedekah serta mereka memberikan pinjaman kepada Allah sebagai pinjaman yang baik (ikhlas), akan digandakan balasannya (dengan berganda-ganda banyaknya) dan mereka pula akan beroleh pahala yang mulia. (Quran Karim, surah al-Hadid: 18). Rasulullah SAW merupakan contoh terbaik dalam bersedekah. Beliau seorang yang begitu dermawan lebih-lebih lagi apabila tiba bulan Ramadan. Baginda memperbanyakkan sedekahnya melebihi bulan lain selain Ramadhan. Daripada Ibnu Abbas RA berkata: Rasulullah SAW adalah orang yang paling dermawan. Dan beliau SAW lebih dermawan lagi di bulan Ramadan ketika beliau bertemu Jibril. Jibril menemuinya setiap malam untuk mengajarkan al-Quran. Dan kedermawanan Rasulullah SAW melebihi angin yang berhembus. (riwayat al-Bukhari).
