Dalam hadits Aisyah -radiallahu'anha-, beliau ditanya:
“Bagaimanakah shalat malam Rasulullah -shalallahu alaihi wasallam- di bulan Ramadhan?” beliau menjawab:
(( مَا كَانَ يَزِيدُ فِي رَمَضَانَ وَلَا فِي غَيْرِهِ عَلَى إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً))
“Tidaklah (shalat malam) Nabi di bulan Ramadhan maupun selainnya melebihi 11 rakaat”
[HR. As-Syaikhân].
Dalam Hadits Ibnu Abbas -radiallahu'anhu- dia berkata:
(( كَانَتْ صَلَاةُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً يَعْنِي بِاللَّيْلِ))
“Dahulu shalat Nabi -shalallahu alaihi wasallam- 13 rakaat, maksudnya malam hari.”
[HR. Al-Bukhari].
