Inilah doa beliau sebagaimana diriwayatkan oleh Imam Muslim dan Imam Bukhary:
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ فِي بَعْضِ أَيَّامِهِ الَّتِي لَقِيَ فِيهَا الْعَدُوَّ يَنْتَظِرُ حَتَّى إِذَا مَالَتْ الشَّمْسُ قَامَ فِيهِمْ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ لَا تَتَمَنَّوْا لِقَاءَ الْعَدُوِّ وَاسْأَلُوا اللَّهَ الْعَافِيَةَ فَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُوهُمْ فَاصْبِرُوا وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ الْجَنَّةَ تَحْتَ ظِلَالِ السُّيُوفِ ثُمَّ قَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ مُنْزِلَ الْكِتَابِ وَمُجْرِيَ السَّحَابِ وَهَازِمَ الْأَحْزَابِ اهْزِمْهُمْ وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ
“Sesungguhnya Rasulullah SAW pada sebagian harinya ketika berhadapan dengan musuh menunggu terbenamnya matahari. Kemudian beliau tampil di hadapan para sahabat dan bersabda: ”Wahai manusia, janganlah kalian berangan-angan ingin segera berjumpa dengan musush. Mohonlah kepada Allah keselamatan. Dan bila kalian berhadapan dengan musuh, maka bersabarlah. Dan ketahulaih bahwa surga berada di bawah bayang-bayang pedang.” Kemudian Nabi berdiri dan berdoa: ”Allahumma munzilal-kitab wa mujriyas-sahab wa hazimal-ahzab, ahzimhum wanshurnaa ’alaihim” (Ya Allah, yang menurunkan Kitab, menggerakkan awan dan menghancurkan pasukan bersekutu, hancurkanlah mereka dan tolonglah kami mengalahkan mereka.” (HR Muslim 3276).
دَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ مُنْزِلَ الْكِتَابِ سَرِيعَ الْحِسَابِ اللَّهُمَّ اهْزِمْ الْأَحْزَابَ اللَّهُمَّ اهْزِمْهُمْ وَزَلْزِلْهُمْ
Nabi berdoa pada saat perang Ahzab menghadapi (kepungan) Musyrikin: “Allahumma munzilal-Kitab, sari’al hisab. Allahummahzim Al-Ahzab, Allahummahzimhum wa zalzilhum.” (Ya Allah, yang menurunkan Kitab, cepat perhitungannya. Ya Allah hancurkanlah pasukan bersekutu. Ya Allah, hancurkanlah mereka dan porak=porandakanlah mereka).” (HR Bukhary 2716).
