Shipyard General Manager. • Directs the daily operation of the site through the efforts of the management team. • Builds and maintains strong company relationships with customer leadership at work site. • Responsible for implementing systems of controls to accurately measure the quality of performance and identify areas that require continuous improvement. • Ensures the efficient, effective utilization of assigned resources to accomplish contractual ship maintenance and modernization requirements. • Ensures all projects are completed safely and in a quality manner on time and within budget. • Drives business development efforts, including contract bids and proposals on existing and new work. • Establishes objectives and standards of performance that govern the operations in accordance with Company policies and directives. • Creates a management climate that drives continuous improvement through employee empowerment and effective labour relations. • Assists the Ship Conversion/Repair corporate management team with the creation and implementation of the overall business's strategic plan.
