IDRIES SHAH WAS born in 1924 into the respected Afghan family, the Sadaat of Paghman. Among his many accomplishments, he is credited with making a wide body of scholarship on Eastern traditional teachings available in the Western world. Shah’s twenty nine (29) books, translated into more than 15 languages, which sell in their millions, are considered to be some of the most important literature to be published during the twentieth (20th) century. One extraordinary aspect of Shah’s work is the wide spectrum of readers his books attract: they are read and studied by psychologists and novelists, physicists, engineers/naval architects (including myself) and by social workers, by actors, lawyers and housewives. 1 The Book of the Book 2 The Boy Without A Name 3 Caravan of Dreams - I bought the book on July 17, 1976 whilst studying in the UK, bought at Loughborough, UK. 4 The Clever Boy and The Terrible, Dangerous Animal 5 The Commanding Self 6 Darkest England 7 The Dermis Probe 8 The Elephant in the Dark 9 The Englishman's Handbook 10 The Exploits of The Incomparable Mulla Nasrudin 11 The Farmer's Wife 12 Knowing How To Know 13 Learning How to Learn 14 The Lion who Saw Himself in the Water 15 The Magic Horse 16 The Magic Monastery 17 The Man with Bad Manners 18 The Natives are Restless 19 Neem the Half-Boy 20 Neglected Aspects of Sufi Study 21 The Old Woman and the Eagle 22 Oriental Magic 23 A Perfumed Scorpion 24 The Pleasantries of The Incredible Mulla Nasrudin 25 Reflections 26 Seeker After Truth 27 The Silly Chicken 28 Special Illumination: The Sufi Use of Humour 29 The Subtleties and the Exploits of Mulla Nasrudin 30 The Subtleties of The Inimitable Mulla Nasrudin 31 The Sufis 32 Tales of the Dervishes 33 Thinkers of the East 34 A Veiled Gazelle 35 The Way of the Sufi 36 Wisdom of the Idiots 37 The World of Nasrudin 38 World Tales 39 The Hundred Tales of Wisdom 40 Sufi Thought and Action 41 The World of the Sufi 42 The Gulistan of Saadi 43 The Religion of the Sufis
