Teknik al-Baghdadi amat berkesan dalam membentuk kemahiran asas membaca al-Quran yang memberikan penekanan kepada 6 Prinsip Asas yang perlu dikuasai untuk membaca al-Quran iaitu :- (1) Keupayaan mengenal dan membaca 29 huruf hijaiyyah dengan baik; (2) Kemampuan membaca tanda baris asas bacaan (fathah, kasrah dan dhommah); (3) Kemahiran menguasai tanda baris dua bacaan (tanwin); (4) Keupayaan mengenal tanda bacaan panjang (mad); (5) Kemampuan membaca tanda bacaan mati (sukun); (6) Kemahiran menguasai tanda bacaan berganda (sabdu). Pelbagai teknik pengajaran dan bacaan digunakan bagi memberikan kesan yang lebih baik untuk menguasai asas bacaan al-Quran dalam tempoh yang singkat antaranya adalah Teknik Ketukan, Teknik Bacaan Berirama, Teknik Titian Unta dan Kaedah SAS (Struktur, Analisis dan Sintesis).
