translation.
1 Behold! in the
creation of the heavens and the earth; in the alternation of the night and the
day; in the sailing of the ships through
the ocean for the profit of mankind;
in the rain which Allah Sends down from the skies, and the life which He gives
therewith to an earth that is dead; in the beasts of all kinds that He scatters
through the earth; in the change of the winds, and the clouds which they Trail
like their slaves between the sky and the earth;- (Here) indeed are Signs for a
people that are wise.
Al-Baqara, Chapter 2, Verse 164.
2 Say: "If the ocean were ink (wherewith to write out)
the words of my Lord, sooner would
the ocean be exhausted than would the words of my Lord, even if we added another ocean like it, for its
aid."
Al-Kahf, Chapter 18, Verse 109.
3 Or (the Unbelievers'
state) is like the depths of darkness in a vast
deep ocean, overwhelmed with billow TOPPED by billow, topped by (dark)
clouds: depths of darkness, one above another: if a man stretches out his
hands, he can hardly see it! for any to whom Allah giveth not light, there is
no light!
An-Noor, Chapter 24, Verse 40.
4 And if all the trees
on earth were pens and the ocean (were ink), with seven oceans behind it to add to its (SUPPLY), yet would not the
words of Allah be exhausted (in the writing): for Allah is Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom.
Luqman, Chapter 31, Verse 27.
5 Seest thou not that
the ships sail through the ocean by
the Grace of Allah?- that He may
show you of His Signs? Verily in this are Signs for all who constantly persevere and give thanks.
Luqman, Chapter 31, Verse 31.
6 And among His Signs
are the ships, smooth-running through the ocean, (tall) as mountains.
Ash-Shura, Chapter 42, Verse 32.
7 If it be His Will He
can still the Wind: then would they become motionless on the back of the
(ocean). Verily in this are Signs for
everyone who patiently perseveres and is grateful.

8 And by the ocean filled with Swell;-

9 When the oceans boil over with a swell;
At-Takwir, Chapter 81, Verse 6.
